In order to obtain a driving license in Denmark, one has to have a legal residence in the country and can at the earliest start three months before ones 18th birthday. THEORY When you start the theory teaching here at Københavns Køreskole, you will be asked to fulfil a ‘ansøgningsskema’ and a ‘lektionsplan’ in which describes the process which you at the minimum have to go through in order to obtain a driving license. It will also explain that one has to have a minimum amount of lessons in theory before you attend the compulsory manoeuvre track, and the theory lessons have to be studied according to a specific order along with the practical lessons. More details will be given when one has enrolled. In the ‘lektionsplan’ you will also see there are minimum lessons a student has to attend in both theory and practical lessons. MANOEVRE TRACK At the manoeuvre track one will follow a program consisting of a total of 4 lessons. An instructor will instruct max. 3 students at the time and instructions will be given through a walkie-talkie. The lessons at the manoeuvre track are as following:
When a student has accomplished the 3rd lesson in theory, it is then time to start driving in the traffic for the first time. The practical lessons are booked according to agreement with the instructor which one will be given at the manoeuvre track. SLIPPERY TRACK Slippery track is a track consisting a total of 6 lessons which is compulsory. The slippery track consist of lessons one will attend usually after the theory test and when ones instructor informs the school that the student is ready for the track. At the slippery track the student is alone in a car and the speed at the slippery track varies from 30-70 km/ hr. Before attending the practical lessons on the slippery track, one has to attend approx. 2 hours of theory at the school. The course at the track takes approx. 4 hours (6 lessons).
